SHARONA CARTER
beautiful and strange
howl your melancholy question
and tell me which you dread more
the echo or the answer
sharona is constantly at war with herself.
she longs to do good and be well. she wants to have beach episodes and get drunk at brunch. she wants to contribute to the world that she loves.
she wants to do it all without feeling like it's a farce-- a means to make up for the monster that crawls beneath her skin.
because what does it mean if the wolf isn't just something you become, it's something she is?
these fears fester and compound on themselves, as she is too afraid to indulge these thrills in order to domesticate and master them.

appearance
☾ any scars from her childhoos and other imperfections have been gone for just over a decade now thanks to her little furry problem.
☾ when she's transformed, she looks like a big red wolf.
☾ sharona tries to keep up with fashion and tries to keep herself looking nice and presentable. she isn't vain-- she just wants to feel like she has some amount of control over herself.

abilities
background
sharona carter was born as the youngest child to a prominent and influential family who is known for their ownership and running of the carter fish market in san francisco, california. she's been spoiled her whole life, though it would be a slight departure to say she's spoiled rotten.
though she does not necessarily use her status and privilege for wide-scale good, she uses it in a way that often benefits those she chooses to surround herself with. everything is always on her. her gifts are always over the top. she always tips well. money speaks, and it's a language with which she's comfortable.
sharona has always been more or less happy to go along with whatever her parents wanted. take violin lessons here, singing lessons there, (appear to) do well in school.
either way, it wouldn't be accurate to say that sharona is passive, per se, but rather she assumes that persons of authority, her parents included, know better than she does and she doesn't have it in her to question ~*~the man~*~. for a long time, she took a back seat in her own life and was fine in letting others make decisions for her. and honestly? it usually worked in her favor! even if it hadn't, she was not brave enough to challenge the status quo.
in the summer of 2013, sharona and a handful of friends went up to the pacific northwest to meet up with a handful of their pals who lived in the area. together, they went glamping. long story short, she and one of her other friends were the sole survivors of a werewolf attack.
the two of them were only friends because of their mutual friends at the time, but dove into the deep end with one another pretty quickly. neither of them knew what they were doing, and neither of them had any connections to the supernatural previous-to, so they floundered and struggled. immensely. thankfully, werewolves ~*~popular~*~ in """"supernatural fiction"""", so they were able to do some ~*~cheeky research~*~, but nothing can really prepare you for your bones breaking every month as you turn into cujo.
it has been a little over a decade since sharona was turned and though she has her bearings, that's all it is. she knows what to expect. there's little to it that she can control.
it sucks! a lot! but, hey! at least maybe now she'll be surrounded by her own kind since she's been offered a place within the adventure society. neat!
